I don't think it's likely, in fact it'd be for the better if it didn't.
So EA, which recently acquired BioWare; the makers of Mass Effect, have hinted at the sequel going multiplatform. Now this would generate the most profit but also the most hate, with the original being an MS exclusive, it would cause a huge uproar of rants from the trolls and fanboys (me). But they are a company, company's make money. Anyway, hopefully what they meant by multiplatform, they meant PC and 360. They are 2 different consoles after all. And if they do make a PS3 version, it'd be ported by EA and hopefully they get the short end of the stick. We (360) could also have the extra-edge: as owners of the original ME can port their character and continue their legacy.
But unless Microsoft Studios still has the series publishing contract, which may have been given to EA, then PS3 could see an RPG epic fall into their hands. Although I dislike PS3 a lot, it would hopefully be better for the series.
Bottom Line: I hope not, but it isn't impossible.
If They Did: More reason for me to get angry at EA, a consequence of this could be a tidal wave of angry men and women. It's good for SONY and MS in terms of money, but we'll be pretty pissed.
